In Lumen Fidei, Pope Francis makes it clear that what the Church is hand on is not solely a doctrinal content for which a book or the repetition of an idea might suffice. Rather, it is about "the new light born of an encounter with the true God, a light which touches us at the core of our being and engages our minds, wills, and emotions, opening us to relationships lived in communion."
To participate in all or just one of these opportunities, please contact the St. Philip the Apostle parish office (513) 899-3601 or email Fr. Bob Farrell at rfarrell@stphilipmorrow.org. You can leave a message indicating what course and session you wish to attend. Please know parishioners at both parishes are welcome at any offering.
Grief Sharing... nondenominational and features biblical concepts for healing from your grief. A Grief Share support group offers help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. The Support group begins Wednesday, September 27, at St. Francis de Sales, from 10 am to noon. It runs through December 20. Each session is self-contained so you don't have to attend in sequence or feel you need to attend every session. Some of the sessions will deal with: the challenges of grief; grief and your relationships; guilt and anger; feeling stuck; how do I live now?
Dates: September 5th - October 24th
Times: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Why bother with Chruch History? As we embark on Beacons of Light, we are reflecting on the mission of the Church, why we exist, and how do we continue to present and live out our faith in today's world.
It is important to understand the interaction between a developing tradition of unchanging belief and the development of inventive ways to describe, share and live that faith over the centuries and into the future. Over 8 weeks we will briefly explore the Early Church and our origins; major events of the Middle Ages and how Christianity moves from region to country to continent; Reformation and Counter Reformation; Vatican II; the Church in the United States; the future of the Church. Nothing is necessary except inquiring minds and openness to discussion and the ability to be comfortable with the Church's unfinished agenda.
To register, please email Fr. Bob at: rfarrell@stphilipmorrow.org.

With the exile of many in Judah on the horizon, the prophet Jeremiah spoke on God's behalf using words and symbolic actions to condemn the idolatry that was rampant in Judah. His prophetic ministry was deeply misunderstood and his subsequent arrest was the source of personal anguish for this prophet who also announced a
new covenant to be written on the hearts of God's people.
