God plants the seed of life in the vineyard of our lives. In the secret of our mother’s womb, He made us grow – lives conceived in their mystery of God’s infinite love and the wonder of the love of a man and wife, which strives to reflect it. God plant the seed.
If we seek to tend the vineyard God has planted, if we nurture and cultivate the gift of life, St. Paul reminds us, we will cling to “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, and whatever is gracious.”
Trusting that God hears our prayers, we now offer our needs to the Lord of Life as we Pray . . .
· For the gift of life from conception to natural death, may all people come to cherish this precious gift.
· For mothers and fathers who await the birth of their child, that God might fill their hearts with an ever-deepening love each day.
· For every little child and especially those who still live in their mother’s womb, that they may grow in the image and likeness of God who made them.
· For the terminally ill and the disabled, that they may receive the care and compassion they need.
· For those who have grown old under the burden of years may they be given the respect they deserve.
· For the medical researchers, may they be inspired by the beauty of human life.
· For our president, members of Congress and the Justices of our Supreme Court, may they foster the principles on which this country was founded.
· For all who work to promote the Gospel of Life and work for an end to the culture of death, that our love for the Gospel of Life might draw us closer in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we ask that in your loving kindness you accept our prayers as we strive to live the Gospel of Life and cultivate God’s vineyard to that it will bear only the finest and truest of fruit unto eternal life. For you live and reign forever and ever.
Amen.
